GOALS:                    Girl Scouting is the world’s preeminent membership organization of girls and women. The historic merger of seven councils serving north and western Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan will occur in June 2008. This newly formed council will be a recognized national leader, providing more girls than ever before with world-class leadership development opportunities. This presents a unique opportunity for a dynamic, energetic and skilled executive to lead the integration process and build on the successes of the councils currently serving girls in this region.

                                                The CEO is accountable for providing leadership, strategic direction, and vision. Working in partnership with the Council’s Board of Directors and the senior management team, the CEO will shape the Council’s business strategy and its implementation. The CEO advises, recommends, and assists the Council Board of Directors in the formulation of policies governing the Council and implements the policies and directives of the Board. The CEO works collaboratively with members of the management team to direct the Council’s day-to-day operations.

                                                               

BACKGROUND:     A minimum of 5 years’ comparable executive level experience is required. In addition, we seek a person with demonstrated competency across a broad range of executive and managerial functions appropriate to non-profit organizations of comparable size, including board relations, communications, financial management, fund development, planning, program delivery, marketing, and staff/volunteer relations. Demonstrated leadership in organizations undergoing rapid transformation is highly desirable. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree or demonstrate comparable training and development, with advanced education and training preferred. Corporate executives with a demonstrated record of leading highly customer-centered organizations are encouraged to apply.

 

STATISTICS:            30,000+ girl and 7,900+ dedicated adult members. The Council’s jurisdiction includes 52 counties in north and western Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Council encompasses the cities of Appleton, Eau Claire, Green Bay, Sheboygan, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids in Wisconsin, and Marquette in Michigan.   This represents a mix of urban and rural communities with high and low population densities. The new Council’s budget is expected to be approximately $6.5 million. The Council operates 21 facilities including offices, service centers, shops, camps and related properties. Combined Councils’ staff presently consists of 115 full and part-time employees, plus seasonal staff.

Position: Territory Business Manager—MO/ IA/ NE/ OK

Reporting to:   Regional Business Manager

 My client has been in business in the US for nearly 50 years, with a home office and main manufacturing facility which is reputed to be one of the most modern in the world.  It has the reputation of being the manufacturer of the very finest equipment available anywhere. They have experienced double-digit growth for the past several years and is now a major manufacturer in the their industry. 

 Currently they are looking for a Territory Business Manager to join their team in MO/ IA/ NE/ OK.  This position will provide operational and sales support to our Franchise owners through consistent coaching and guidance to develop and grow a successful and profitable business model.  This will be accomplished by serving as a relationship manager working directly with the owners and managers to exceed customer service, identify business opportunities, and create and maintain the integrity of the client's brand.

 Job Responsibilities:

·        Improve the success of each Franchise in the assigned territory through the communication, coaching, and training of operational and sales initiatives

·        Act as a business advisor in areas that support the franchise unit in operations, sales, marketing, training, compensation plans, profit and loss

·        Understand and able to clearly communicate the Franchise Agreement

·        Ensure that the client's brand standards are being met in each store

·        Identifying business opportunities and partnering with each owner to follow through will all initiatives

·        Ensures there is alignment between the home office and owners

·        Quarterly (minimum) completion of the Business Success Plan with each owner in assigned territory

Position: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

 Experience, Qualifications, and Education

The ideal candidate will have:

·        A minimum of 6 years of manufacturing engineering experience, including at least 2 years prior supervision.

·        Proven successes utilizing Lean principles, including 5S, TPM, set-up reduction and value stream mapping.

Description & Responsibilities

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing support to the operations’ team in order to achieve the business goals and objectives of the organization.  This position works closely with the operations and engineering teams to develop and implement process improvement and cost reduction plans and programs.

The successful candidate will lead the projects that will provide the organization with process improvements and cost reductions in all production areas.

Specific responsibilities include:

Develop and execute process and quality improvement plans.

Work closely with the operations group to develop a comprehensive improvement and cost reduction plan to support company growth objectives.

Monitor, assess and regularly review the performance of the operations plans put in place.

Analyze and interpret operational information to assist in identifying improvement opportunities to meet customer expectations.

Experience, Qualifications, and Education

The ideal candidate will have:

·        A minimum of 10 years of product development engineering experience, including at least 2 years direct supervision of technical / engineering personnel.

·        Combustion (combustion related) work is of utmost importance

·        Thorough knowledge and experience in the full cycle of product development.  This will include proven success moving a product from concept to production in an efficient and well thought out manner, for example, the ideal candidate developed an entire product versus just the control switch

The Manager, Product Development & Design is responsible for providing timely, high quality technical expertise to the design and development of products. 

Specific responsibilities include:

Analyze and interpret market and customer information to assist in identifying new product or product improvement opportunities to meet customer expectations.  You will work closely with the Sales and Marketing groups to develop a comprehensive product definition that meets customer and business needs.

Provide direction and support to other Engineering staff throughout the development and production cycle.

Perform necessary testing and evaluation to ensure products meet or exceed customer/market place expectations.

Conduct necessary product performance, safety and reliability testing and provide analysis of your results.  

Ability and willingness to ravel up to about 10% for business.

As a key member of the engineering team, the Senior Product development Engineer reports to the Director of Engineering (within a department of 1 CAD Supervisor/ 2 CAD professionals/ 2 R&D Techs/ 3 Engineers/ 2 Service Techs) and works closely with other members of the management staff.  The successful candidate will be a strong team player who gets things done both as an individual contributor and as a team player across multiple departments.

Background

BSME; NO TECH DEGREES

·        Experienced and knowledgeable in metal fabrication industry; processes like hand arc welding, GMAW, tooling, resistance welding, metal forming, porcelain enameling, powder paint systems, washers, high efficiency furnaces, assembly, blasting, CNC punching, piercing, etc.

SUMMARY

Direct and coordinate the activities involved in the development, prototype, evaluation and validation of product and component designs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·        Supervise employees assigned to the project group and be responsible for contractual fulfillment of the assigned projects.  Define objectives, prepare specifications, plans and schedules and assign responsibilities to subordinates.  Coordinate the design, development, manufacture, test and delivery of projects. 

·        Analyze and or perform research and testing on potential designs as they relate to numerous requirements including agency, shop, fit, cost, strength and schedule.

·        Coordinate such activities as purchasing, accounting, contract administration, manufacturing, outside vendors and plant security in order to ensure successful completion of projects with constraints

·        Direct preparation of contractual correspondence and reports, including records of drawings released material list, trouble reports, and changes in service and performance data and delivery information.

·        Prepare progress reports to management covering all phases of the project.

·        Investigate and troubleshoot serious product design related problems and opportunities, documenting finds and performing corrective/improvement changes.

·        Approve Engineering Changes.

·        Investigate pertinent factors such as interchangeability, service requirements, efficiency and agency requirements.

·        Evaluate products for ease of manufacturability, cost and performance.

·        Apply physical, chemical and mathematical concepts to solve design problems, and the creation of new designs. 

·        Manage projects of large and small scale, to ensure project is executed within time, cost and budget constraints.

·        Bachelor’s degree in engineering

·        8-10 years of related experience in project management within a product research and development environment, or a graduate degree with 5- 8 years of related experience in project management in a product research and development environment.

·        Working knowledge of UL, ANSI, CSA water heater safety, performance and installations standards.

·        Experience in design, development and manufacture of products. (water heaters, boilers, furnaces or similar HVAC type products).

·        Working knowledge of Pro-Engineer solids modeling software.

·        Strong team/group management skills

·        Experience in evaluating products for manufacturability, cost and performance

·        Experience in investigating, troubleshooting, documenting, and performing corrective actions in product designs

·        Strong intra/inter company and external coordination skills

·        Experience in contract administration, and working with outside vendors

·        Strong Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)

·        Strong communication/presentation skills with experience in presenting information to top management

Position: New Product Quality Manager

My client is the world's largest producer of consumer goods and equipment for both indoor and outdoor use. They are also one of the largest producers in the world of similar equipment for professional users. 

They are looking for a New Product Quality Manager to join their team in their HQ in Georgia.

SUMMARY

The New Product Quality Manager role is a key leadership position for my client.  This person will report to the “Premium Appliance” Quality Leader for North America. As such, the Manager is responsible for the overall quality of all new low-to-mid end product launches.  This includes from design to field success, incorporating all quality aspects of supply and manufacturing. The Quality Manager role is responsible for manifesting the quality strategy into the overall new product quality plan and driving action through team leadership and individual action and accountability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The New Product Quality Manager is responsible for the development and execution of product line quality plans supporting the new product development teams. Critically, the Quality Manager is responsible to assure the compliance & rigor of the Product Creation Process (PCP) for all new product launches. This Manager drives review and analysis of current product / production to ensure compliance, reliability and overall quality of delivered product.  Additionally, the Manager will develop PCP audit criteria and conduct periodic audits for PCP compliance. The successful candidate is also responsible to monitor and manage field performance of product, drive change to manufacturing processes or design to ensure appropriate product performance.

The Quality Manager is responsible for the quality of all new products, ensuring that they are launched in compliance to the PCP process and meet / exceed customer quality expectations.  In addition, this position will support existing product from a quality perspective.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, Advanced Degree preferred

-                  7-10 years experience in Quality, Customer Interaction and Operations

Department of Homeland Security to Hold Evacuation Exercise, Looking for Volunteers

The City of Detroit Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) will conduct an evacuation exercise in Southwest Detroit on September 8 and 9. Volunteers are needed to act as evacuees during the two-day exercise.   During the exercise, volunteers acting as displaced citizens will be evacuated from Southwest Detroit and transported to another area of the city. They will be sheltered overnight and receive valuable information on how to be prepared for emergencies and disasters. Several City of Detroit agencies will be participating in the exercise along with the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and Detroit^s trained Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Teen CERT volunteers.  One hundred people have signed up to participate, but HSEM needs more than 500 volunteers of varying ages to assume the role of people that are non-English speaking, have mental/physical disabilities, or medical conditions that would require assistance if evacuated.
